1. Complete The Summoning Pits on the Moon

2. Earn 500 points by killing Hive enemies on the Moon

- A normal enemy is worth 1 point, a Major is worth 20 and an Ultra is worth 50

3. Use Void Damage to defeat Guardians in the Crucible. Death will slow your progress.

- Requires 500 points, 5 points are gained per kill, 2 lost per death

- Kills must be made with a weapon or skill that does Void damage. Assists do not count.

4. Obtain an infusion of Light from the Speaker

- This costs one Mote of Light

5. Talk to Ikora Rey

6. Kill Xyor, The Unwed

- Xyor is found in a level 26 instance of The Summoning Pits that is only available while this phase of the bounty is active. The Epic modifier is enabled, and matchmaking is not used.

- Phogoth must be damaged enough to trigger waves of enemies but not killed until Xyor appears on the third wave.

7. Return to the Speaker to receive Thorn.

Projectiles - The ammo this weapon uses are basically spikes. Big spikes! These spikes release a poison that causes damage over time to the enemy. This DoT has been a very hot topic in the Crucible, since even after all the changes to the weapon and perk, still allows for a 3-shot body shot kill. Because of this, most high ranking Crucible players use this weapon exclusively.

Weapon Frame - Incidentally or not, the green orbs/jewels at the end of the barrel look very similar to an Embalming Orb. This orb is also used to upgrade Husk of the Pit to Eidolon Ally and enhances the metaphysical properties of that weapons evolved form.

Dredgen Yor was obsessed with inflicting hopelessness on anyone he crossed. He references it in Thorn 3. Before becoming fully corrupted by the Darkness, he spread hope. Crota\'s true name was \"Crota, Eater of Hope\", as mentioned in Calcified Fragment XXXVI:Eater of Hope. Combined with the apparent Embalming Orb in the weapons frame, along with the uses and known affects of the Embalming Orb in Husk of the Pit... Does this make these two weapons connected in some way. Is just that they were merely created by by one of Crota\'s minions or is there something deeper there?
