Generally it\'s verboten to directly edit the parent theme, as these edits are broken with each upgrade; but this provides a handy way to globally apply certain functions across all sites, assuming all use a Genesis child theme. We of course have backups to these edits, to re-apply when we update the Genesis parent.

We should likely move these edits to a functionality plugin (see post and possible plugin) in time.

Note: parent theme style.css is not edited, as child theme style.css takes precedence and dictates actual look, which varies from child theme to child theme.
